• Player Evaluations Saturday, January 28, 2012.

This is a reminder to follow up on the notification you received in early January about Spring 2012 Lacrosse Player Evaluations.

WFYL is excited to see everyone at Sawnee Mountain Park on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Please see the schedule below for your division’s eval time.

Bantam (1^st – 3^rd Grade) 10 AM – 12 PM
Lightning (4^th – 5^th Grade) 12 PM – 2 PM
Junior (6^th – 7^th Grade) 2 PM – 4 PM
 
Players should have full gear including helmet, stick, pads, and cup.
 

We recognize that this has been a soggy week for Forsyth County. While that is great for Lake Lanier it is a little tough for Lacrosse!
 
In the event that we must cancel Saturday’s evaluations the rescheduled date will be Sunday, February 5^th. Please see the schedule below for your division’s eval time: 

Bantam (1^st – 3^rd Grade) 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Lightning (4^th – 5^th Grade) 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Junior (6^th – 7^th Grade) 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM

• Spring 2012 Parent Meeting Tuesday, February 7, 2012, 7:00 PM at Vickery Creek Middle School Gym

Plan to attend our first ever parent meeting. We will have important information about the upcoming season and the coaches will be there to introduce themselves to you. Rosters will be released at this meeting.


Everyone stay tuned to the website site for the latest information and important dates. The WFYL Board looks forward to serving our families who are returning and those that are new to the program.

Parents, if you want to free your garages and closets of gently used Lacrosse equipment, we provide a platform to sell, trade, or give it away.   “The Exchange” tab on the left side menu on our homepage allows you to post items.   Everything that is posted is vetted to ensure the items are appropriate and specific to Lacrosse.   We have plenty of new and growing Lacrosse players that could make use of equipment that is gathering dust.  
 
The Exchange is simple and totally free to use:
1.       Click on the Exchange tab
2.       Click add new Item
3.       Complete the fields above the title
4.       Enter a description title
5.       Write a description of the item with cost if any.
 
If you prefer not to use the service but would like to donate items, please email and we will arrange a pick up.

MAYLA (Metro Atlanta Youth Lacrosse Assoc) has released the game dates for the 2012 Rec Season. This is for general planning purposes only these dates could be adjusted some as we get closer to the 2012 season.

- February 25th - 1st Game
- March 3          - Game #2
- March 10         - Game #3
- March 17         - Game #4
- March 24         - Game #5
- March 31         - Spring Break - No games scheduled
- April 7             - Spring Break - No games scheduled
- April 14           - Game #6
- April 21           - Game #7
- April 28           - Game #8 - Last regular season game

- May 12th & 13th - Roswell Tournament - Typically 4 to 5 games over the 2 days
